MYQER has been shortlisted for the 2026 North West StartUp Awards, in the StartUp For Good category.
For a platform still in the early stages of its journey, being recognised alongside other young businesses working to create positive impact is an encouraging milestone.
MYQER began with a very personal problem.
After founder Anita Boros’s young daughter experienced a severe allergic reaction, one question remained: what happens if an emergency happens again when the people who know the important information are not there?
That question became MYQER, My Quick Emergency Response, pronounced “my care”.
The platform is being built to make important emergency information easier to access when somebody may not be able to explain it themselves. A person can create an Emergency Access Profile containing the information they choose to make available in an emergency, including allergies and reactions, medications, conditions, emergency contacts, communication needs, care preferences and other important information.
MYQER supports both Online Emergency Access and Offline Emergency Access, with the aim of making useful information available quickly without requiring the person helping to install an app or sign in.
Being shortlisted for StartUp For Good feels particularly fitting.
MYQER was not created simply as a technology product. It began as a practical response to a real experience, with the belief that better access to information can help people feel more prepared when responsibility suddenly falls to someone else.
At this stage, MYQER is still building, testing and learning.
There is a long way to go, but being recognised by the UK StartUp Awards is an encouraging reminder that the problem MYQER is trying to solve is understood beyond the people closest to it.
The next step is the North West regional final, where shortlisted businesses from across the region will come together to celebrate the work being built by new founders and teams.
For now, we are grateful to have made the shortlist.
And then, back to building.
